Harford Ballet Company Pre-Professional Auditions
The Harford Ballet Company will hold Pre-Professional auditions for intermediate and advanced students ages 10-18 (as of August 1, 2013) on May 19, 2013 for the 2013-2014 season.
All dancers attending the audition should wear a black leotard and pink tights. Please no skirts, leg warmers or additional clothing. Dancers will be given a ballet technique class to asses their technical and artistic skills. Older students may be required to take the class en pointe. Please arrive by 1:30pm to register for the audition and so that all dancers are warmed up and prepared for class.
This audition is a requirement for all dancers who would like to be a part of the intensive training experience and performance opportunities offered through the Harford Ballet Company. There will be an informational meeting about the HBC experience during the audition (2:00 - 3:00pm) for parents who would like to learn more about the company. HBC students are required to take at least 3-5 ballet classes per week and to attend 2-6 hours of rehearsal per week. Pre-Professional students participate in both outreach and main stage performances produced by the Harford Ballet Company.

Harford Ballet Company Professional Auditions
Auditions for the Harford Ballet Company 2013 Nutcracker performances will take place during in August 2013.
Dancers are welcome to attend a class during the HBC Summer Intensive from August 5-23 as their audition. Dancers should bring a headshot, dance photo and resume and be prepared to dance on pointe. Please contact our office by August 5 if you are interested in auditioning.
This audition is open to dancers ages 18 and up (as of Aug. 1, 2013) who have achieved an advanced or professional level of technique and artistry. Paid participation in HBC perfomances requires that dancers are taking at least 3 ballet classes per week and all professional dancers must be able to attend required HBC rehearsals for the performance they are hired for. Dancers will be expected to attend additional rehearsals for soloist and principal roles.
All applicants should come at least 30 minutes early to register and should provide a resume, dance photo, and head shot. Ladies will be asked to dance en pointe. Video auditions are not accepted. If a dancer is unable to attend the Professional Division audition, we are willing to schedule an audition during company class on Saturdays from 10:30-12:00.
